A Reboot Might Just Be What You Need

Not all of us have a golden history. Some of us have unlucky starts. And some of us just have horrible life and attitude in the past. This is why it’s important to remember that each of our journey is different. For every person that has a clear life path, there’s someone else who is tired of burning bridges.

We are all not saints and angels. I can’t imagine living in a world where we are all protagonists and purists. It’s boring to live in a society where there is no villain. Because, whether we like it or not, villains give us colors and dimensions. Without them, the bridges at night are empty and dark.

Surprisingly, villains have character arcs. They have hearts. They have souls. Which are malleable, and for most part – humane. A time will come when the villain decides it’s no longer fruitful to be a bad bitch just for the sake of being a bad bitch. Though the bridges burned light their way forward, there’s only enough bridges to burn in this world.

A reboot is the sweetest plot twister – for both heroes and villains. A restart is a promise. It’s a land where anyone can hope again. And rebrand for the better. Starting all over again – for real this time – helps anyone course correct and learn from their past mistakes.

Sometimes we need to begin again. Regardless of our age and where we are in life, we can always hit the refresh button. To change is a win. To be nice and kind go along away. We may hate the idea of cooperation before but we’re learning along the way that we need people. We need each other. And it’s okay to step out of our own minds and be of service to others.

Bad things happen to us because maybe they are the painful lessons that turn us into good people. Maybe not having a wonderful start in life gives us an underdog story worth championing. Someone’s history might be a good indication of how someone behaves, but know that it’s not set in stones. People can change 80% of who they are. They can do a 365 turn and transform their lives around.

A reboot is a gift. From God. From the Universe. It’s a kind present to you. Because as long as there are mornings to wake up to, there is still hope. You still have a chance to be a good person. You still have a chance to give the kind of love that you’ve never received before. And you still have the chance to open up your heart.

It’s not true that we only have one shot in life. We have plenty of stopovers in our journeys where we can reflect and decide we want to burn down our history so we can create a new one. We get to choose what past we want to define us. And what history we would like to keep. There’s a path forward for all of us. And it’s waiting for us to embrace it with our arms wide open.
